Advantages & strengths
Politburo resolution 08-NQ/TW of January 16, 2017, on developing tourism into a key economic sector is a profound and specific policy that has comprehensively guided Vietnam’s tourism industry in recent years. However, highly qualified tourism professionals (master’s degrees) who can work in management and the development of new tourism products remain in short supply, and relatively few institutions offer master’s programs in tourism.
Among Vietnam’s leaders in tourism & hospitality education in terms of lecturers, student numbers, international partnerships, and graduate employment rates, DTU is now one of the country’s most reputable educational institutions. DTU is currently the only institution in Danang offering a graduate program in tourism.
Program objectives
DTU’s master’s program in Tourism & Travel Service Management aims to introduce and disseminate the fundamental principles underlying the development of a functional system focused on tourism; develop research skills in tourism & travel; foster professionalism in developing and managing comprehensive or structured projects; teach methods and tools for identifying, assessing, quantifying, and leveraging tourism resources; and cultivate interdisciplinary research capabilities.
